RESCUE BOAT

• Shall be not less than 8m and not more than 8.5m in length
• Shall be capable of carrying at least 5 seated persons and one person lying on the stretcher
• Shall be in the state of readiness for launching in not more than 5 min
• Shall be capable of maneuvering at a speed of at least 6 knots
• Shall be capable of maintaining 6 knots speed for at least 4 hours
• Shall be capable of retrieving person from the water, marshall life raft & tow life raft with its full complement of the person at speed of at least 2 knots
• Shall have a permanent arrangement for towing
• Inflated rescue boat shall be kept in inflated condition at all times

Battery: Check for proper operation by starting the engine

Hook arrangement:

(i) Check for any damage corrosion, dirt, excessive salt deposits, or foreign bodies.

(ii) Check that the release handle is in the locked position

(iii) Monthly checks are done by releasing in water

Water & provision: Check for expiry

Engine: Carry out maintenance as per user manual
