  • When fired vertically, should reach an altitude of at least 300m
  • The maximum rate of descend is 5m/s
  • Contained in a water resistant casing
  • Operational instruction on the casing
  • Self-contained means of ignition

 

  • Burn with bright red color
  • Luminous intensity: min 15000cd
  • Burning period: min 1min

 

  • Continue to burn after an immersion of 10s under 100mm of water
  • Contained in a water resistant case.
  • Operational instruction on the casing.
  • Not ignite explosively.

 

  • Emit smoke of highly visible color at a uniform rate for min 3 min.
  • Not emit flame during entire smoke emission period.
  • Not be swamped by seaway.

 

  • Continue to emit smoke after an immersion of 10s under 100mm for water
  • Rocket parachute: 12 pieces on bridge and 4 pieces in each lifeboat and life raft
  • Hand flare: 6 pieces for each lifeboat and life raft
  • Smoke signal: 2 pieces for each lifeboat and life raft
  • Minimum 4 projectiles which can carry at least 230m.
  • Minimum 4 lines each having breaking strength of not less than 2 KN.
  • Brief instructions and diagrams on the casing.
  • It should be fired at a 45° angle to achieve the maximum projectile path.
  • It is kept on the bridge.
  • At least ONE should be there.
