Oral-Ship Construction, Stability, Ship Safety and Environment Protection (FUNCTION –3)

Shall be provided for every person on board
Shall be provided for watch keepers on bridge ECR & other manned station
Shall be provided for survival craft stations
Shall be fitted with a whistle secured with a cord
Shall be fitted with lights (Intensity-0.75cd) (Duration- 8 hours)
Shall be capable to wear in one way only
Shall be comfortable to wear
Shall not interfere with the entry into any survival craft or in seating
Shall allow a person to swim and board a boat
Shall allow the wearer to jump from at least 4.5m into the water without injury
Shall have buoyancy that is not reduced by more than 5% after submersion in FW
Child lifejacket- 10% of passengers on board or one for each, whichever is greater
On passenger vs1, an additional 5% of the total no. of passengers on-board
